Kenya Airways dubbed in 5 Outstanding Nomination Categories at the 2024 World Travel Awards for the African Region

The voting stop for these awards is poised to end on September 8th, 2024. The World Travel Awards, established in 1993, for a quite while, been honored as the apex of excellence in the Travel and Tourism Industry. The awards
process unravels through a sets of regional gala ceremonies held across the world, acknowledging and celebrating outstanding achievements in different sectors of the industry.

Kenya Airways’ nominations come at a time of a vital economic growth for the airline.
A decade of economic difficulties, KQ has returned to profitability, reporting a net profit of Sh513 million. This u-turn is culminated to the
airline’s strategic plan, Project Kifaru, that concentrates on customer satisfaction, operational excellence, financial discipline, innovation,
and sustainability. The first half of 2024 saw KQ’s total income heighten by 22% year-over-year to Sh91.49 billion, while operating costs decreased by 22% to Sh90.20 billion, resulting in a 30% increase in operating profit to Sh1.30 billion. The WTA gala ceremonies are overtly known as premier networking events in the travel industry, enticing government officials, industry leaders, and international media.
Winners of these regional ceremonies will progress to the Grand Final scheduled to take place in Madeira, Portugal, later in the year. Kenya
