Nigeria to soon Importing Milk and Coffee from Uganda to Nigeria Erstwhile President of Nigeria Obasanjo Guaranteed

NEW AFRICA BUSINESS NEWS (NABN) Freetown, Sierra Leone- Uganda’s capability to produce 5.7 billion liters of milk yearly, former President of Nigeria Obasanjo asserted with both President Museveni and local growers of Nigeria’s enticement in purchasing processed milk and coffee from Uganda. He emphasized Africa’s issue of not fully recognizing its resources, striking out that Nigeria had been importing milk from Europe despite Uganda being a leading milk exporter.
President Museveni expressed his gratitude to Obasanjo for bolstering the partnership, authorizing Uganda’s capacity to meet both local and
international demand for milk. During the visit, Museveni, alongside First Lady Janet Kataha Museveni, same inducted the upgraded Nshwere Church of Uganda.
In addendum, Museveni exhorted agriculturalists to shift from free-range grazing to zero grazing and warned them to register their farms as
businesses. Minister of State for Animal Industry, Hon. Bright Rwamirama, highlighted Uganda’s increasing export value, currently at $264.5 million, and asserted growers that the government is advancing efforts to efface ticks to boost milk production.
