The ECOWAS Commission Capitalized on Economic assistance for the blooming Legislative Elections hugged in the Republic of Guinea-Bissau

NEW AFRICA BUSINESS NEWS (NABN) Freetown, Sierra Leone– The Head of ECOWAS Election Observation Mission and former President of the Republic of Cabo Verde – Jorge Carlos Fonseca, at the postelection briefing carried in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau divulged.
He remarked ECOWAS Commission expended about $712,000 to assure the accomplishment of the Sunday, 4th June 2023 legislative elections into Guinea-Bissau’s 120 National People’s Assembly. The head of the mission moreover told $500,000 of the amount was given as assistance to the National Electoral Commission (CNE), with another $92,000 given to the ECOWAS stabilization force deployed to the country to facilitate it to maintain the electoral process.
According to the former Cabo Verde President, another $120,000 was also provided by the Commission to negate the considerable responsibilities to party agents to stave off funning a threat to demonstrate the election over the arrears owed them.
