NEW AFRICA BUSINESS NEWS (NABN) Freetown, Sierra Leone- It was a the two-day event hosted by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) in Abuja on the theme “Enhancing LaContent Development and Deployment in African Oil and Gas Industry”.
The Executive Secretary of NCDMB Engineer Simbi Kesiye Wabote in his keynote address authorized the delegates to advance methods that would enrich research and development within the continent next strategies for extra funding sources to confound the challenges prevailing in the oil and gas industry on the mainland.
He talked about the necessity to take advantage of existing chances such as the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) which has created a billion people market and challenged the participants to come up with suggestions on how to influence cross border partnerships towards acquiring and carrying out local content as well as overcoming the funding challenge for member nations.
The Secretary General of APPO, Omar Farouk Ibrahim pressed that African Oil producers must be authorized to use their hydrocarbon resources to get out of poverty.
He underlined that energy is the biggest catalyst for the transformation of Africa and hydrocarbon resources must not be renounced if Africa would achieve energy security.
