The Smiling Coast of Africa Beautiful Gambia makes history as it hoists the 15th Organization of Islamic Cooperation Summit

NEW AFRICA BUSINESS NEWS (NABN) Freetown, Sierra Leone- 15th summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) started on Saturday in the Gambian capital Banjul.
The 15th OIC conference that’s ongoing in the Gambia galvanized global leaders from the 57 member nations of the OIC and beyond. These leaders are anticipated to show up, the OIC in a statement ahead of the summit noted. Representing Türkiye at the event is Hakan Fidan, the nation’s Foreign Minister.
In addendum, the conference gears to bolster unity “in collectively addressing the pressing challenges facing the Ummah (Muslim community) and stretching cooperation and solidarity amongst retinue nations in the pursuance of shared goals as enshrined in the charter.”
In codicil, the OIC remarked that, the conference same, bents to “expand our domestic economy and revitalize small and medium enterprises,” in addendum to “taking the opportunity to share the wealth of Gambian and African culture with the world.”
The summit, which taking place through Sunday with the central theme “Enhancing unity and solidarity through dialogue for sustainable development,” will address global issues, primarily the present situation in Palestine and the ongoing Israeli war in the Gaza Strip, which has killed over 34,000 people.
During the summit, three key documents – a draft Palestinian resolution, draft Banjul statement, and the draft final document – will be presented to the Council of Foreign Ministers and equally to the conference for discussion.
