Tanzania is Poused to sell 500,000 Tonnes of Maize to the Democratic Republic of the Congo autographed between the National Food Reserve Agency of Tanzania and Quincy Company in Katanga Province of DRC

NEW AFRICA BUSINESS NEWS (NABN) Freetown, Sierra Leone- Gerald Mweri – Permanent Secretary in Tanzania’s Ministry of Agriculture, divulged the primary consignment will consist of 200,000 tonnes of maize, followed by the remaining 300,000 tonnes. This was signed on Tuesday May 20th, 2024 in Dodoma Tanzania.
Andrew Komba – NFRA’s Executive Director, remarked the food reserve agency has sufficient stock to sell additional food to neighboring nations encountering food shortages. He extended that, the NFRA will commence purchasing food, encompassing maize and paddy, from agriculturalists commencing July 1st, 2024 embracing with the starting of the 2024/2025 Financial Year.
