    NEW AFRICA BUSINESS NEWS (NABN) Freetown, Sierra Leone- Sérgio Santos rendered the proposal during a virtual bilateral conference on the subject, having said on the event that, the Angolan market has 90% of the economy in the informal sector so that the services of this operator constitute profits for Angola.

    The Minister understood the desire and significance of the M-pesa tool, utilized by Safaricom, for economic trades by mobile phone, an experience that the Angolan authorities plan to take objective of. At the meeting, emphasized by the Angolan Ambassador to Kenya – Sianga Abílio, the Kenyan firm was exemplified by Sitoyo Lopokoiyit, Director General of M-pesa Africa and by Ogugwa Adegbite, Strategy Director and International Expansion of M-pesa Africa.

    The M-pesa tool was established in Kenya in 2007 and is already wielded in Tanzania, Egypt, Mozambique, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana and Lesotho.

    Nonetheless, Unitel and Movicel corporations proceed to monopolize the telephony demand in Angola, since 2000. Angola Telecom is the deluxe landlord of the sector and for December of 2021, Africell’s begins the exercises.
