    Green Africa to Ratify haggle with Airbus for 100 Airliner

    NEW AFRICA BUSINESS NEWS (NABN), Freetown, Sierra Leone– Nigeria, Green Africa Airways is “close to signing a deal” with Airbus for 100 aircraft. This is according to statements by the Wall Street Journal. The corporation prior schemed to procure Boeing’s controversial 737 Max. Specifically, In December of 2018, Boeing Green Africa declared openly, it retained bargain with Boeing a consensus with the Startup.

    Lagos-based Green Africa Airways proclaimed a commitment for up to 100 737 MAX 8 aircraft, evenly split into 50 company aircraft and 50 preferences, as the airline gears up to start up commercial operations.

    The cumulative contract carries a list-price of US $11.7 billion, the hugest aircraft pact from Africa. According to the WSJ, the agreement could be published today worsening the crisis faced by Boeing after two pernicious wrecks from its 737 Max Fleet. Green Africa Airways will purchase Airbus A220 planes which stool about 130 passengers.

    Green Africa Airways CEO, Babawande Afolabi – Founder & CEO of Green Africa Airways noted that, in 2018 the company’s “long-held dream of building a world-class airline that will unlock a new realm of positive possibilities for millions of customers.” Afolabi is a retired investment banker with Morgan Stanley where he served for about a couple years.

    Green Africa Airways, has earned its Air Transport License from the Nigerian government and is docked by a group of geriatric business leaders overseen by Tom Horton – erstwhile Chairman and CEO of American Airlines, William Shaw, Founder and retired CEO of Viva Colombia and Virasb Vahidi, preceding CCO of American Airlines. According to announcements, the airline’s policy is to foremost expand the Nigerian demand and accordingly ‘build a strong Pan African network.’

    January, 2019 the startup confirmed scholarly investor, Gbenga Oyebode was enlisting its founding council of directors. The company in May, 2018 also endorsed the nomination of Caribbean Airlines VP-operations Jag Singh as COO and former JetBlue Airways VP-flight operations, Bart Roberts, as safety review board chairman. A visit to Green Airways website suggests the company is nonetheless in its startup point with no apparent evidence of when it starts to commence operations.
