Wind Farms Project Kick off in Senegal

NEW AFRICA BUSINESS NEWS, Banjul, The Gambia- As Africa is growing, the Continent needing more energy and most of it’s Countries are embark on renewable energy programs. Energy of the future and Africa the fastest growing Continent, is ready to lead the World, in this endeavor.
In Western part of Africa, Senegal, it’s President Mackey Sall ‘s administration currently embarked on importing wind farm Turbines in large scale. It will supply nearly six percent of the country’s power through the support of a renewable Energy Group LEKELA renewable energy group based in Great Britain.
The wind farm project locates about 100 kilometers off from the Senegalese capital DAKAR, capable of reaching a capacity of 158.7 megawatts by 2020 to a high number of households in Senegal.
President Mackey Sall, described the project as one of the greatest developments in the country that will compliment the problems of energy shortage in most parts of Senegal. And above all, the project is capable of also providing 30 % of clean energy in the country and completely avoids 300,000 tons of carbon omission.
This multi-million project will be partly financed by LEKELA renewable energy Group to compliment government effort. In a nut shell, LEKELA GROUP has invested extensively in renewable energy in many parts of Africa.
