Nigeria Initiates Crusade to Strategize the Road Map for Ngozi Okonjo -Iweala for World Trade Organization Director General Job

NEW AFRICA BUSINESS NEWS (NABN) Freetown, Sierra Leone- The nationwide, the administration of Nigeria has launched a campaign stratagem committee that would guarantee the emergence of the erstwhile Minister of Finance – Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, as the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
According to NABN source, Adeniyi Adebayo – the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, established the team in Abuja on July 16th, 2020 and announced, the innovation of a drive thesis would be very much meaningful for Okonjo-Iweala’s feat for the job as Director-General for the World Trade Organization.
He added that, the consequence was a devoted thinking of the desire to throng Africa’s prospect and for the growth of gender mainstreaming at the world’s top employment office. Minister Adebayo affirmed sanguinity that, the Nigerian Okonjo-Iweala would ensue as the successive Director-General of the World Trade Organization, established on her aptitudes and wealth of knowledge at the loftiest tier of the World Bank, as a Development Economist, Diplomat, and one of Africa’s most trusted technocrats.
Nonetheless, it was registered that, the candidates would make fifteen minute presentations to the 164 members states’ representatives at the WTO headquarters in Geneva, before facing a seventy-five minute presentation over their schemes for the global trade body.
In addendum, Okonjo-Iweala received a major promotion in her recommendation to arise as the Director-General of the World Trade Organization. The minority leader, Ndudi Elumelu, entrusted his assistance for Iweal’s candidacy during a plenary of the House of Representatives on July 14th, 2020.
