New Africa Business News, Denver, Colorado- President Donald Trump visited the U.S – Mexico border in Calexico to meet with local law enforcement officials at a border patrol station on Friday, to tour a section of recently rebuilt fencing, he cites as the answer to stop migrant families coming to the U.S. This visit comes few days after President Trump threatened to shut down the Southern border as a result of increase in Migrant families crossing in search of asylum. He also said “our Country is full” and insisted the United States immigration system was overburdened and illegal crossing must be stopped.
The president did back down from his threats to seal the lengthy borders between Mexico and the U.S. The southern border is nearly 2,000 miles long and about 650 miles of barriers.
President Trump also reiterated his willingness to impose auto tariffs on Mexico or close the border if the flow of Migrants at Southern border does not decrease. He also expressed hope that he would not need to do so. He thanked Mexico for doing more in the last few days than they have ever done to stem the number of people reaching the border.
