Banjul, The Gambia- New Africa Business News, has being following latest developments in Senegal,  without Prime Minister.  Senegalese Parliament with the blessing of the President Macky Sall, adopted on May 04 to scrapped the office of the Prime Minister with 124 Members voted in favor, 7 against and 7 abstained. On May 15th, the Country’s President signed it into law. Most Senegalese don’t care of the changes. They are not  seeing major changes in their day to day life.

Supporters of the President that formed 2/3 majority in parliament described such a move as the right step forward that will bring complete political reforms in the country and enable President Sall to institute and execute his campaign manifesto of ensuring more economic , political , social and infrastructural development in Senegal.

While the opposition considered such a move as a political ploy to usurp more executive powers in the Country. The bill was initiated at the beginning of President Sall’s second term of office and for another five years.

This was not the first time Senegal undertake such a hard decision as one of the democratic model in the Continent. A bill of similar nature was once adopted during the able Leadership of late President Leopold Seder Senghore and former President Abdou Joof.
