New Africa Business News Staff Correspondent for North America has been following reports coming from Mexican Authorities in the Southern State of Chiapas. Mexican police have detained several hundred Central American Migrants in a caravan traveling towards the United States border.
Many of these detainees are from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala. These Migrants are fleeing violence and poverty in their Countries.
Honduran Migrants are entering Mexico illegally as patience runs thin at the border with Guatemala according to reports.
United States President Donald Trump has recently threatened to close the border with Mexico if the Country does not do more to combat the follow of Migrants making their way to the North. Most of the freight trains that transport Migrants in recent days, have stopped running as the Mexican government has come under extreme pressure from the United States government to stem the flow of these Central American Migrants.
