NEW AFRICA BUSINESS NEWS, BANJUL, THE GAMBIA- The most common phenomenon in Africa today speaks of how beauty the African Woman is without a bleaching skin. Bleaching to a certain extent has eroded some aspect of our tradition and mainly exposes our beautiful Women to a world of fantasy and abuse of our traditional values.
The Gambia over the years under the Leadership of Ex President Jammeh placed high value on our African Women and the beauty of this Great Continent with special embargo on skin bleaching. It is not an issue of intrusion to their privacy, but a case study that centered mainly on preventing African Women from the effect of certain chemicals that have a negative impact on their skin.
Today in the Gambia, the smiling coast of Africa and all African Countries, most Women are extremely proud of their blackness and happy in their own beautiful black skin. Black is beautiful. The Great American Civil Right Leader Dr. Martin Luther King said, Well I want to get the language right tonight, in a speak. I want to get the language so right that everybody here will cry out, ” YES I AM BLACKED AND I’M PROUD OF IT.
