Mobile and social game publisher Gameloft has opened a new trade office in Nigeria, allowing the company to expand its reach in an emerging market that already includes 367 million users.
Gameloft, a major player on mobile thanks to franchises such as Asphalt and Modern Combat, has had a presence in Johannesburg since 2012, and has seen its revenue in that area increase by 536 percent over the last four years.
The publisher is already working with a number of African mobile operators such as MTN, Orange, and Vodafone to gain a foothold across the continent.
Vincent Brezillon, Gameloft’s sales director Africa, hopes the new office will help the company establish better working relationships with its “current and future local partners.”
