Sturridge posted a video of him running and kicking and heading a ball on social media with the message “Closer…”.
The Reds forward continues to recover following an operation in Boston to rectify a long-standing hip problem, and remains on course for a return to full training next month.
Sturridge made only 18 appearances last season – 12 as a starter – as he struggled with a succession of injury concerns, with his last appearance coming in FA Cup win at Blackburn in April.
Nevertheless, his tally of five goals in that time exceeded the output of the three other main striker’s on Liverpool’s books during the campaign.
Sturridge scored 24 goals in the 2013-14 term and 11 in 16 appearances the previous season having joined from Chelsea.
