The Managing Director of the Ghana Airport Company, Charles Asare, has announced that the country was banning flights from Ebola-affected countries in West Africa.
A statement by the ministry on Saturday said the action was part of elaborate emergency measures the authorities are implementing to contain the virus.
Restrictions have also been imposed on the movement of hundreds of Liberian refugees still at the Buduburam Refugee Camp near Accra.
There is an outbreak of the Ebola disease in the West African sub-region which has already claimed over 600 lives.
The statement said that efforts were underway to establish Ebola treatment centres across the country.
Affected countries include Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria.
