Organised Labor in Ghana has announced that it would mobilise for a nationwide demonstration against the current economic hardships in the country. Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Friday, Trades Union Congress (TUC) General Secretary Kofi Asamoah, said the organized labour has decided on a one-day national protest and has asked all workers under the umbrella to boycott work on Thursday, 24th July, 2014.
He said the event would send a strong signal to government about poor handling of the economy.
He pointed out that on that day, all workers including those of you in the media, formal and informal, are to stay away from work and converge at designated locations in Accra and other regional capitals to demonstrate.
