Reports from Margibi County in Liberia say that students and teachers of the Kakata Rural Teachers Training Institute (KRTTI) and the Booker Washington Institute (BWI) have deserted the institutions due to fear of contracting the Ebola virus. The fear was occasioned by news of the recent death of a student of the KRTTI who is reported to have contracted the Ebola virus while in Sierra Leone.
The Senator of the Margibi County, Oscar Cooper who made the disclosure in the senate Monday, indicated that even though the student fled the campus when he became ill, this has caused more problems as no one can say clearly where exactly on campus he went or who he interacted with.
Senator Cooper explained that this uncertainty has made many students and teachers to flee the campus altogether.
Margibi County is one of the three counties where the Ebola virus has reared its ugly head.
