No Polish Visa, For Qualified African Volleyball Teams


Nigeria’s participation at the forthcoming FIVB U-23 Male and Female Beach Volleyball World Championships in Poland is uncertain due to inability to secure visa, an official has said.

Coach of the male and female under-23 beach volleyball teams, Chakuma Ismail, said in Abuja on Tuesday that with less than a week to the Championship, no preparations had commenced because there were no indications that visas would be secured.

Although the FIVB Male and Female Beach Volleyball World Championships are scheduled to hold from June 10 to June 15 in Poland  but no serious preparation was taking place, including camping programme.

Musa Nimrod, the Chairman of the Beach Volleyball Commission of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), said the problem was from the embassy and said:  There is no visa processing is taking place yet, so what are we starting camp for? All African countries that qualified for the Championships have not gotten visa.
